Revenue Inspector Arrested In Prayagraj For Taking Bribe For Allocation Of House Number
Prayagraj, February 7 (TNA) A Regional Revenue Inspector Himanshu Kumar posted in the Municipal Corporation was arrested on Monday by the local unit of the Anti-Corruption Unit in Khuldabad zone one, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
It is alleged that he had taken bribe from a person for allocation of the house number. Dharmendra Kushwaha, a resident of Rasulpur Shastrinagar in Kareli who does business has built a house on his ancestral land. He had applied to the Municipal Corporation to get the house number.
It is alleged that Regional Revenue Inspector Himanshu, posted in Zone 1 office, was demanding bribe from him to sign on the relevant papers. He complained about this at the Anti-Corruption Police Station. Upon investigation, prima facie the complaint was found correct and a plan was made to trap the accused.
Under this, around five o'clock on Monday evening, the victim reached an office in Khuldabad zone with Rs 10,000. During this, as soon as the regional revenue inspector took money from him, the anti-corruption team nabbed him. After this, he was taken to the Anti-Corruption Police Station, where a case was registered and he was arrested. CO Ramprakash informed that the accused will be presented in the court in Varanasi on Tuesday.
