Retired Cop Beaten To Death By Tenant In Varanasi, Had Sent SOS To Son

Varanasi, Oct 20 (TNA) A retired UP Policeman was found dead in his home in Varanasi late on Tuesday. His body had injury amrks and his son has alleged that the tenant beat him to death.

On basis of a complaint, the police has arrested three and is interrogating them. According to the police, Vinod Kumar Yadav, a resident of Kamoli informed them that his father Shobharam Yadav (65) had rented a room of the house to Vijay Kumar Gupta of the village about a year ago. He had not been paying the rent for some time and on protesting he reached home with his two companions and beat up his father.

Vinod told the police that in the injured condition, the father called and said to come to the new house soon, otherwise Vijay and his companions will kill him. By the time he reached, his father was lying unconscious with serious injuries to his chest, head and abdomen.

He was taken to the hospital at Pandeypur Khajuri where doctors declared him brought dead. Circle Officer Pindra, Abhishek Kumar Pandey said that the order to register a case on the basis of Tahrir has been given to Police Station Chaubepur, after the post-mortem report, further action will be taken.
