Retired Chief Manager Of State Bank Of India Hacked To Death In Lucknow Home
Lucknow, February 18 (TNA) A retired Chief Manager of the State Bank of India (SBI) was hacked to death at his Ram Ram Bank Chauraha residence in Madiaon area of Lucknow, police said on Friday. Items were scattered inside the house and it was clear that the murder took place when the deceased tried to resist the robbery.
The deceased has been identified as 74-year-old Lalit Mohan Pandey (74). The valuables and cash kept inside were robbed. Police reached the information and sent the body for post-mortem. At the same time, the footage of the surrounding CCTV cameras is being scrutinized.
The police swung into action as soon as the information about the murder of the elderly man was received. On the spot DCP North S. Chinnapa, ADCP North Prachi Singh, ACP Aliganj S. Ali Abbas reached with his team.
According to ADCP North Prachi Singh, Lalit Mohan Pandey, a resident of house number MMB 1/112 located in SBI Colony of Madianv, lives with the family. Lalit Mohan retired in 2007 as Chief Manager of State Bank of India. He is survived by wife Preeti Pandey, son Namit Pandey and daughter Malvika Pandey alias Molly. Son works in Pune. At the same time, daughter Malvika lives with family in London after marriage.
As on normal days, Lalit's wife Preeti had gone out for a walk around four o'clock and to buy vegetables. Lalit Mohan was alone in the house. She returned home after about an hour and a half. Opening the door and entering inside, blood was spread from the portico to the room inside. She found the body of Lalit lying in a pool of blood.
