Rajnath Singh Unveils Bust Of Sulabh Founder Bindeshwar Pathak In Lucknow

Lucknow, April 20 (TNA) Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday unveiled the statue of Social Reformer and founder of the Sulabh movement late Dr Bindeshwar Pathak and dedicated a road in his name in the Aliganj area of the state capital.

Union Defence Minister while recalling the contributions of Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak termed him a missionary. He urged the people to follow his path in social engineering and equality. He advocated the adoption of the principles and philosophy of Dr Pathak in social life.

He said that the late Dr Pathak transformed India's sanitation ecosystem and introduced cost-effective, eco-friendly toilets that contributed towards health and hygiene. His work furthered safe and hygienic sanitation as a pillar of human dignity and public health.

Nitya Pathak of Sulabh International expressed great satisfaction over the naming of a road dedicated to the name of Sulabh’s founder. She termed it as a tribute to the great soul. She thanked the Union defence minister and state government for dedicating the road in the name of Dr Bindeshwar Pathak. Senior official of Sulabh International Pankaj Jain, former IAS welcomed the guests.
