Raj Shekhar Inspects Under-Construction New Circuit House In Kanpur, Sets May 2021 As Date Of Completion

KANPUR || Divisional Commissioner Of Kanpur, Raj Shekhar on Monday inspected the under-construction Circuit House of Kanpur. Accompanied by Chief Engineer PWD and Executive Engineer Building Division of the PWD, the divisional commissioner directed concerned officials to get 3rd party construction quality check done by IIT Kanpur in next 15 days.

The young bureaucrat also asked officials to plan for solar lighting of the building and consult with the NEDA for the same. He also set May 2021 as deadline for the completion of the Rs 18-crore project which was sanctioned in principle in 2017 and construction on which began in 2018.

The project has been revised twice because of structural design changes and additional facilities being incorporated.

The new circuit house will have a Presidential Suite, Governor Suite , 4 VIP Suites and two meeting halls (one small & one large).
PWD Officials

Officials informed that in addition to these, looking into the importance of the water conservation, this project will also have rain water harvesting facilities. During the inspection, chief engineer of the public works department told the Commissioner that the physical progress of the Project is around 70% as on date.

The revised estimate is pending for sanction at the PWD HQ level and will be sanctioned soon, he apprised Raj Shekhar while adding that after the sanction of the revised estimates the project will take 6 months for completion.
