Rail Traffic Disrupted Briefly On New Delhi-Howrah Route Due To A Technical Glitch

Auraiyya, Nov 13 (TNA) Traffic on the important New Delhi-Howrah rail route was disrupted for over twenty minutes on Saturday due to a signal fault, an official said. Trains were halted some distance away from Kanchausi station and some express trains including goods trains were stopped.

There was a problem with the automatic signal system on the up line at around 5 am on Saturday near Balrampur village, one-and-a-half kilometers east of Kanchausi railway station. Operation of trains coming from Kanpur towards Etawah, Tundla, Agra, Aligarh, Delhi was hit.

According to the station staff, the operation of trains on the up line of Delhi-Howrah route was stalled for 15 minutes. Signal and Telecom (SNT) section was informed by the Station Master. The engineer who arrived after this removed the signal problem and trains started operating.
