Probe Fast Tracked In Mahant Narendra Giri’s Death, CBI Team Reaches Prayagraj

Prayagraj, Sep 23 (TNA) In less than 16-hours of the Uttar Pradesh government recommending a CBI probe into the mysterious death of Akahada parishad chief Mahanat Narendra Giri, a five-member team of the premier investigative agency reached Prayagraj on Thursday.

The FIR, case diary and all evidence that came the way of the police SIT will be handed over to the CBI team, an official said. At the time of writing this report, the CBI team is in the police line, collecting information from the officers of the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Almost all the prominent saints and Hindu organizations, including many prominent politicians, have demanded a CBI probe into the death of Mahant from the state government. In the election year, the state government does not want to take the displeasure of saints and hence the fast paced CBI probe.
