LUCKNOW || After days of sustained attack on the BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday knocked the doors of the Raj Bhawan, seeking intervention of the governor as crimes against women skyrocketted in the state.

In a tweet from her official Twitter handle, Vadra said that the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh was turning from bad to worse. The Congress leader said that a girl who was going fill an online form was raped and brutally murdered in Lakhimpur Kheri on Tuesday.

This, she said was happening on a daily basis now in Uttar Pradesh and time had come for the governor to intervene. As a woman, she told Anandiben Patel, you would understand the gravity of the situation and take immediate steps to arrest this spiral.
