President Kovind Shows Keen Interest In Development Of Kanpur, Officials Brief Him On Various Projects

Kanpur, June 28 (TNA) During his two-day Kanpur visit, President Ram Nath Kovind took detailed briefing on various various ongoing development projects. Before leaving for his last leg of UP trip to Lucknow, the president interacted at the circuit house with Commissioner, Kanpur Raj Sekhar, Police Commissioner, Aseem Arun, District Magistrate, Kanpur Nagar, Alok Tiwari and Neeraj Srivastava, Coordinator High Power Development Committee and Independent Director, Kanpur Smart City.

Most importantly Raja Sekhar informed him about 93-km-long outer ring road project, he further said that after the construction of this ring road the traffic which passes through national highway number 34, number 19, number 86 and number 27 will not be entered into inner roads and will bypass thru outer ring road.

He also added that after construction of Ring Road various project of integrated development can also be made which will enhance its Industrialisation and its developmental draft is also being made.

80-Km-long road connectivity to Lucknow-Agra expressway from Panki Ganga Canal at Armapur, which will help to a major population of south Kanpur and businessmen in faster movement to Agra & New Delhi was also brought to the attention of the president

Neeraj Srivastava told the President that the ring road will be consist of 5 divisions. Raj Sekhar explained the current status of Ring Road that it's alignment has been approved by the Ministry but few sanctions still remain and that he has already sent a letter to joint secretary and Minister for industrial development Satish Mahana has already sought help of union minister for road & transport minister Nitin Gadkari in expediting clearances.

President assured to help in this regard for speedy approval of the project looking into its larger & long term public benefits, officials said. Another important project which is 80 Km long road connectivity to Lucknow-Agra expressway from Panki Ganga Canal at Armapur, which will help to a major population of south Kanpur and businessmen in faster movement to Agra & New Delhi was also brought to the attention of the president.
