Prayagraj's Mankameshwar Temple Sets Dress Code For Devotees, No Entry For Those In Jeans-Tops

Prayagraj, June 13 (TNA) Dress code has been implemented for devotees in the ancient Mankameshwar temple of Prayagraj. A notice board has been put up outside the temple which mentions that there will be a ban on wearing western dress, jeans-top in the temple premises. Women will get entry only in saree, salwar suit and men in pant-shirt or kurta-dhoti, kurta-pyjama.

Sridharanand, the head priest of the Mankameshwar temple, says, “thousands of devotees come to the temple every day to pay obeisance. It has been seen since a few days that the dress of the people is not appropriate. Both men and women have become careless about their dress." People are coming to the temple in half pants and T-shirts, as if they have come for a picnic, due to this, they are not getting the desired result of worship and worship, he added.

“No one is forbidden to enter the temple, but due to wrong clothes, incidents like theft, snatching and love jihad are happening. It is the responsibility of religious leaders to give guidelines regarding dress” the priest further added.
