Prayagraj Airport To Soon Have CAT-II Lights Making Flight Landings Easier

Prayagraj, December 19 (TNA) The movement of aircrafts will now be easier on the runway of Prayagraj Airport even in bad weather and low visibility. The airport administration will start the work of installing CAT II lights here. CAT I light is currently installed on the runway of the airport, but now CAT II light will be installed in its place.

CAT I light was installed at Prayagraj airport in November 2019 at a cost of Rs 80 lakh. After the installation of CAT I , the movement of aircraft became smooth even in 850 meter visibility. Along with this, after the CAT I light was installed, the way for the movement of aircraft was cleared even at night, but due to the Air Force not allowing passenger aircraft here at night, now the airport is not allowed to land and take off at night.

The facility could not be started. CAT II lights have also been installed on the runways of Lucknow and Varanasi airports.
