Polling In Awadh Bar Association Elections Postponed

Lucknow, August 14 (TNA) Owing to "unruly behaviour and ugly display" by the candidates and supporters during the elections of the Awadh Bar Association of the High Court, Lucknow, the returning officer cancelled balloting scheduled on Saturday.

In a statement issued by Vinod Kumar Shahi, the Returning Officer of the Election 2021, it was informed that not clearing the designated polling areas and influencing the voters was a big reason for the cancellation of the polling.

He also said that the COVID protocol was not being followed and neither were the candidates paying heed to the instructions of the RO.

The decision of re-polling for the office-bearers will be announced later, Shahi stated further.
