Poll Panel Asks UP Government To Remove Officials Posted In Districts For Three Years

Lucknow, February 16 (TNA) The Election Commission of India had written a letter on 21 December 2023 to transfer the officers related to the voting and counting system posted in the same district for 3 years. Following this, Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has written a letter to the government to remove officers posted in the same district for more than 3 years given the Lok Sabha elections.

In 43 out of 75 districts, many officers have been working for more than 3 years. The CEO has also sent to the government the list of those officers who, based on the cut-off date of June 30, 2024, are completing 3 years of service in the same district out of the last four years.

These include Consolidation Officer, Assistant Consolidation Officer, Settlement Officer Consolidation, Child Development Project Officer, Food Safety Officer, Block Education Officer, Assistant Divisional Transport Officer, Regional Food Officer and Child Development Project Officer level officers.
