Police Arrest The Prime Accused In Badayun Gang Rape And Murder

Lucknow, January 8 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested Mahant Satyanarayana, the main accused in the incident of gangrape and murder with a woman in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh that shook the nation earlier this wee. He was on the run for the past two days.

Following directives of chief minister Yogi Adityanath that the guilty be brought to book, the police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on him. District Magistrate Kumar Prashant told reporters late night that Satyanarayana was hiding in a close aide's house in a village from where he was nabbed by a police team.

Soon after the arrest he was taken away by the police for interrogation. NSA has already been slapped on the accused. The gang rape had crossed all limits of barbarism and in the autopsy report, it was revealed that the victim had serious injuries in her private parts and even her leg had been broken.
