Planes Headed For Prayagraj-Varanasi Diverted To Lucknow Due To Poor Visibility, Fog

Lucknow, November 25 (TNA) Due to low visibility and fog in Varanasi and Prayagraj on Friday, two planes had to be diverted to Amausi Airport. The planes were dispatched from here after the weather became better in both the cities.

Amausi Airport has a state-of-the-art CAT 3-B Instrumental Landing System. This allows planes to land even in low visibility. According to airport sources, Indigo Airlines flight (6E-6035) was going from Bangalore to Prayagraj on Friday.

But, visibility at Prayagraj Airport was very low due to fog. The pilot of the aircraft contacted the air traffic controller. But, he did not get permission to land. After circling in the sky for a long time, the plane was sent to Amausi Airport. The plane landed at Amausi Airport at 11:50. When the weather became fine in Prayagraj, the plane was dispatched at 1:20 pm.

Indigo Airlines flight (6E-2211) going from Delhi to Varanasi was not allowed to land due to low visibility. This plane landed at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 10:19 am. When the weather became fine in Varanasi, it was flagged off at 11:25 am.
