Parents Protest Outside Study Hall School In Lucknow, Seek Rethink On Fees Structure

Lucknow, July 16 (TNA) Parents of children studying at the prestigious Study Hall school protested outside the gate number 1 of the school building at Gomtinagar locality on Friday morning.

The up-in-arms parents were protesting against the school management for no let up in the fees structure, which they demanded, was necessary since many of the parents had lost their jobs during the pandemic or were facing financial crunch.

One parents, whose child is studying in class Vth said that he worked for a private sector company and his renumeration had been drastically cut since the pandemic broke out in February last year.

There were some who referred to the Delhi model of fees wherein they pointed out the AAP government had given a big relief to parents.

"There is no reason why the school should charge us for library, swimming pool, administrative facilities, examination, electricity, computer classes etc", mother of two children studying in the school told TNA.

"When the students are not availing any such facilities what is the logic of the fees" said another, demanding that the school immediately think seriously about the exorbitant fees with a compassionate view of the problems faced by parents.

The parents are demanding that while they had deposited fees fully for the 2020-21 academic session, they should now review the fees structure for 2021-22 session.

Parents are also demanding that fees should be taken with a view of the problems they were facing and that the parents be allowed to pay fees as per their ability and convenience.

Parents also said they will only pay tuition fees on which also they be given a 15% rebate. Many parents spoken to also demanded that the students not be exposed to the fee impasse and that the matter be kept only between parents and the school management.

School authorities said that while they understood the problems faced by parents they urged parents to understand theirs as well. It was also informed that fee structure had already been revised recently.
