Over 2375 Kg Of Poppy Seeds Worth Rs 9.5 Crore, To Be Used For Drugs Making Seized In Agra

Agra, August 12 (TNA) In a massive haul of drug making substance, the Anti-narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and the Agra Police has seized poppy seeds (doda powder), worth Rs 9.5 crore hidden in 128 sacks found in truck.

In the 128 sacks found in the truck about 2,375 kgs of doda powder was found, an official informed. It was being carried on tamarind containers. The driver-operator escaped when the team caught the truck. DCP City Suraj Rai told that on August 3, the mobile team of the State Tax Department had stopped the truck on the Ring Road. E-way bill had expired. On enquiry, the driver and cleaner fled.

The team brought the truck to the office. During the search of the truck, some papers were found, in which it was written that 128 packets of tamarind were loaded. Cops tried to communicate on the number written in the papers, but no one came to the office to inquire about the truck.

Physical verification of the gunny bags kept in the truck was done on Thursday. 2375 kg doda powder was recovered in gunny bags. Police Station Lohamandi and Anti Narcotics Task Force investigated. It is said that the truck was going from Kolkata to Delhi. The number plate is of Rajasthan.
