Online Teaching At AMU For Academic Session 2020-21 To Commence From July 16

Aligarh, July 3 (TNA) The online teaching for Even Semester in the Aligarh Muslim University for students admitted in the session 2020-21 will commence from July 16, 2021, excluding the Faculties of Engineering and Technology; Medicine; Unani Medicine; and Law, wherein the concerned Deans will notify their respective academic schedule.

On the other hand, the online teaching for the session 2021-22 will commence from August 2, 2021. This was stated in a notice issued by Mujib Ullah Zuberi, Controller of Examinations, AMU. The teaching will be only in online mode in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and the students have been directed to attend online classes from their respective homes.

The notice further states “the Halls of residence in the university will remain closed and there will be no dining hall facility, hence the students should attend the online classes from their respective homes and should not come to the University in view of Covid 19 pandemic.”

In a related development, the Executive Council of Aligarh Muslim University in its ordinary meeting held on June 14, 2021 has unanimously passed that there will be no summer vacation in the academic session 2020-21, and the teachers will be given 35 days’ detention leave in lieu of summer vacation.

The Executive Council also reiterated, the academic career of students should be the first priority of the university and all efforts should be directed at preventing loss to the students due to disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has also been emphasized by the Union Ministry of Education and University Grants Commission.
