Of 211 Samples Tested, No Delta Plus In UP So Far: Government
Lucknow, July 23 (TNA) There is so far case of the dreaded Covid variant - Delta Plus anywhere in the state, a government spokesman informed on Friday. He added that so far a total of 211 samples were tested at KGMU Lucknow and BHU in the last few days for the purpose of in-depth study and testing regarding the new variant of covid infection.
No Delta + or any other new variant has been confirmed in any of the samples, it was informed. This study report states that the policy of trace, test and treat has been effective in the state. The state is still safe from the Delta + variant which is considered to be a big factor for the third wave, it was added.
As on Friday, there is not a single corona patient left in Aligarh, Balrampur, Basti, Etah, Hathras, Mahoba, Shravasti districts. All the infected patients have been treated and have recovered. These districts are corona free now and similarly, Covid patients in 39 districts are in single digits.
On Thursday, 2,38,136 samples were tested and only 61 samples were confirmed with covid infection and the positivity rate in the state is at 0.02 per cent. In the same period, 86 patients have recovered and been discharged.
No new cases of corona were found in double digit in any district. At present, the total number of active patients has come down from less than 1,000 to 994.
