Notorious Gangster Pawan @ Kallu Killed In Police Encounter in Agra
Agra, February 27 (TNA) In a joint operation, the Noida unit of Uttar Pradesh STF and Agra Police teams engaged in a fierce encounter with criminals in the Ekta police station area of Agra late Friday night. One notorious gangster sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital for immediate treatment, where he died.
The deceased accused has been identified as Pawan @ Kallu, son of Santaram, a resident of Sirouli under Loni police station in Ghaziabad. Pawan was wanted in an extortion case at the Tajganj police station under the Agra Commissionerate, with a Rs 50,000 reward declared on his head.
A shooter for the notorious Randeep Bhati-Amit Kasana gang, designated by the government, Pawan faces over 18 cases, including four murders and two extortion charges. In 2021, he carried a Rs 1 lakh reward for a murder case, leading to his arrest from Delhi and subsequent imprisonment. While in jail, he forged ties with Haryana’s infamous Himanshu Bhau gang.
Released in 2025, he immediately began large-scale extortion activities and was plotting major incidents in Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh alongside the gang.
Police recovered a significant cache of cartridges and firearms from the spot, including a 9mm pistol stolen in 2016 from Constable Monu Dhiman, who was then posted as PSO to an ADJ.
A case (No. 247/16 under IPC Sections 279/337/392/427) was registered at Bisrakh police station, Gautam Buddh Nagar, regarding the loot. Further investigations are underway, a senior police official informed.
