No Respite From Rains In UP For The Next 48-Hours, Alert In 23 Districts

Lucknow, August 13 (TNA) There is no let up likely in the heavy rains that are pounding many parts of Uttar Pradesh, in the next few days. According to the Regional Met office, moderate to heavy rains will occur in as many as 23 districts of the state. Most of them being in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Rains would be accompanied by gusty winds and lightning at some places. The state has received an average rainfall of 12.7 mm in the last 24 hours. Which is 127% higher than normal rainfall of 10 mm.

Similarly, 464.6 mm average rainfall has been received in the state from June 1 till now which is only 100% relative to normal rainfall of 462.7 mm. Rainfall of 25 mm or more has been recorded in 15 districts of UP.

Alert has been sounded in 23 districts including Pilibhit, Basti, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Ghazipur, Mau, Lakhimpur Khiri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Ayodhya, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar.
