Nine Killed In Fatehpur As Speeding Milk Tanker Hits An Auto

Fatehpur, May 16 (TNA) Nine persons including a kid were killed in Fatehpur distrct of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday when a speeding tanker hit the auto they were travelling in, police said.

A child has also been crtiically injured. The ill-fated auto was going from Ghatampur towards Jehanabad when the mishap happened near the Chilli turn. The tanker driver fled the crime scene.

The deceased include two women and two children. There were 14 people in the auto at the time of the accident. All belong to the same family. UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath took note of the mishap and offered his condolences on the loss of lives.

He also directed the district administration to ensure that the injured got the best and prompt treatment.
