New, Historic Milestone For Lucknow Metro As Ridership Crosses Four Crore

Lucknow, February 10 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) logged a new record to its name on Thursday as the ridership in the Lucknow Metro Rail crossed four crore. According to an official, so far 4.04 crore passengers have travelled by Lucknow Metro in the last 4 years and 4 months.

This achievement is also significant because despite the three waves of the Covid epidemic in the last years, the UP Metro has maintained the confidence of the commuters. Lucknow Metro started services on 8.5 km long priority corridor between Charbagh to Transport Nagar on 5 September 2017.

More than 54 lakh passengers traveled by Lucknow Metro in less than 4 months. In Unlock-2, even after the restart of metro service from June 9, 2021, the passenger numbers of the metro had increased rapidly.

On the occasion of this achievement, Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation congratulated the entire team of UPMRC and the people of Lucknow and said that achieving a ridership of 4 crores is definitely a historical milestone for Lucknow Metro.
