Deoria, October 19 (TNA) UP ATS on Wednesday arrested Brijesh Kushwaha and Prabha Kushwaha, a couple involved in Naxalite activities. Brijesh was arrested from Deoria and Prabha from Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

On July 5, 2019, ATS had registered a case against seven people including Naxalite gang members. ATS had arrested Manish Srivastava and Amita Srivastava alias Varsha. Whereas, evidence was collected by raiding the locations of other named accused including Brijesh and Prabha Kushwaha in Kanpur, Deoria, Kushinagar and Bhopal.

ADG ATS Mohit Aggarwal said that at that time no evidence was found against Brijesh and Prabha in the investigation. In this situation, he was not arrested. However, the mobile phones and electronic devices recovered from them were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for testing.

Recently, analysis of the reports received from there revealed that the mobile phones and other electronic devices of both of them had links to the banned Maoist organization People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) and CPI (Maoist), a party and organization empowered to oppose the Government of India.

There were letters and literature for construction. Anti-national activities are mentioned in the letter. On the basis of this evidence both have been arrested. Now both will be brought to Lucknow on transit remand and presented in the court.

Investigation revealed that Brijesh joined Inquilabi Chhatra Sabha after completing his post-graduation from Gorakhpur. In the year 2006, he met Prabha, a resident of Raipur, in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Both of them got married in the year 2010. Both the workers started supporting the leftist ideology by joining Kisan Ekta Manch and Savitribai Phule Sangharsh Samiti.
