Mission Indra Dhanush Begins In UP From Today: 12.74 Lakh Children, 3.88 Lakh Pregnant Women Of UP To Be Vaccinated

Lucknow, August 7 (TNA) Under the intensive mission Indradhanush 5.0 in the state, 12.74 lakh children from zero to five years and 3.88 lakh pregnant women will be vaccinated beginning Monday. Under the mission, vaccination will be done to prevent 12 types of diseases including measles- rubella, tuberculosis, polio, hepatitis, galaghontu.

Nodal officers have also been appointed in 27 special priority districts. Every year about 57 lakh children below one year and 64 lakh women are vaccinated in the state. Vaccination of all children and women could not be done during Covid.

When the Health Department team conducted the survey, it was found that 2.32 crore children and 3.88 lakh pregnant women have not been vaccinated. In such a situation, intensive Mission Indradhanush campaign has been launched in three phases (7-12 August), (11-16 September) and (9-14 October) in all the districts for vaccination of all these. In the first phase, a target has been set to vaccinate 12.74 lakh children and 3.88 pregnant women.

Bahraich, Gonda, Ambedkarnagar, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Unnao, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Aligarh, Etah, Kasganj, Azamgarh, Mau, Bareilly, Badaun, Siddharthnagar, Banda, Jalaun, Kanpur Nagar, Etawah, Nodal officers have been appointed for Farrukhabad, Meerut, GB Nagar, Ghaziabad, Bhadohi, Moradabad, Sambhal districts. Similarly, observers from the national level will also check the status of vaccination in 10 districts of the state.
