Minor Dispute Over Drain Turns Ugly In Aligarh, Couple Beaten To Death

Aligarh, June 28 (TNA) A minor dispute over a drain turned ugly in Aligarh late on Monday, leaving a couple beaten to death. Their three children have also been seriously wounded in the brawl and are undergoing treatment at the JN Medical College. Police and administrative officials reached the crime scene after receiving information of the double murder.

A two-year-old rivalry has emerged at the root of the incident. Earlier, the deceased side was accused of killing the woman of the accused side. According to the police, 50-year-old Jogendra, a Scheduled Caste of Devsaini, was bringing his ailing 45-year-old wife Sarvesh Devi to the village after being discharged from the hospital.

As soon as he entered the village, there was a dispute after falling off on a broken drain. In the meantime, the other side attacked them with sticks and axes. In this attack, Jogendra died on the spot, while Sarvesh and his three children were seriously injured. Sarvesh was admitted to JN Medical College, where he died during treatment. According to CO III Shwetabh Pandey, the incident is related to old enmity. Tahrir is still awaited and search is on for the accused.
