Mayo Hospital In Lucknow Runs Out Of Oxygen, Asks Families To Shift Patients Elsewhere

Lucknow, April 21 (TNA) On a day that the Yogi Adityanath government claimed that all was under control and that there was no dearth of hospital beds, life-saving drugs and oxygen, there are reports of oxygen shortage at many private medical facilities in the state capital. The Mayo hospital in the city has in fact put up an "urgent notice" informing that they had run out of life-saving oxygen.

The notice further says that repeated and desperate pleas to the chief minister and government officials for immediate supply of oxygen have fallen on deaf ears. The management of Mayo has requested the families whose near and dear ones are admitted to their medical facility to take their patients who are on oxygen support "to higher centre for further management".

There are unconfirmed reports of similar situation in some other hospitals as well. There is however no word from the state government on the issue. The UP chief minister late on Tuesday had ordered that security be deployed outside oxygen manufacturer and distribution outlets.
