Man Shot Dead In UP's Hathras For Filing A Police Complaint After His Daughter Was Harassed By Local Youth

Lucknow, March 2 (TNA) In a shocking incident a man was peppered with bullets in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh late on Monday because he had filed a complaint with the police against some local youth for harassing his daughter.

The deceased, identified as Amrish, was in his fields in the Naujarpur village when the assailants opened many rounds of fire on him. Labourers present on the crime scene fled as bullets started raining from all directions.

The distraught daughter wailed before the police, saying it was unfortunate that her father filed the complaint and lost his life.

She also took the name of a certain Gaurav Sharma as being the main person, along with his three accomplices who carried out the shootout. Police officer Ruchi Gupta informed the media that a case has been registered against the named people and legal action was being taken to apprehend the culprits.
