Major Bureaucratic Shake-Up in Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Govt Transfers 23 IAS Officers, Names New DMs in 10 Districts

Lucknow, July 29 (TNA) In a late-night administrative overhaul on Monday, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government rejigged the state’s bureaucracy. As part of this move, 23 senior IAS officers were transferred, and new District Magistrates have been appointed in 10 key districts, including Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, and Bahraich.

The reshuffle reflects the state government’s continued emphasis on strengthening governance and ensuring efficient administration across major districts. Among the major changes, IAS officer Neha Sharma has been shifted from her position in Gonda and appointed as the In-Charge Inspector General, Registration. Monika Rani, who previously held the post of District Magistrate in Bahraich, has been appointed Special Secretary in the Basic Education Department and Additional Director General of School Education.

Former Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal has been made Secretary of the Home Department, while Rajesh Kumar, who served as Secretary in the Home and Vigilance Department, has been appointed the new Divisional Commissioner of Ayodhya.

In district-level changes, Gorakhpur’s DM Krishna Karunesh has been appointed as the Additional Chief Executive Officer of Noida. Deepak Meena, who was serving as DM of Ghaziabad, will now take over as the new DM of Gorakhpur. Ravindra Kumar Mandar, who was posted in Prayagraj, becomes the new DM of Ghaziabad. Manish Kumar Verma, formerly the DM of Gautam Buddh Nagar, will now oversee Prayagraj.

Further changes include Medha Rupam, previously Kasganj DM, being appointed as the new DM of Gautam Buddh Nagar. Pranay Singh, until now Additional Commissioner of Sugarcane and Managing Director of the Uttar Pradesh Sugar Corporation Limited, will now serve as the DM of Kasganj.

Additionally, Alok Singh, who served as DM of Kanpur Dehat, has been made the Special Secretary in the State Property Department and appointed as the State Property Officer. The latest round of transfers is seen as an effort by the Yogi government to infuse fresh energy into key administrative positions and enhance public service delivery across the state.
