Mainpuri Stands Sixth In UP In Conviction Of Criminals, 19 Handed Life Terms

Mainpuri, April 16 (TNA) The district has got the sixth position in the state for prosecuting well and ensuring life imprisonment to the criminals. Instructions have now been given to the concerned by preparing an action plan to bring more and more criminals to justice, an official said on Saturday.

The punishment awarded to the offenders in the last financial year was reviewed was reviewed recentlyby Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avnish Awasthi, Director General of Police Mukul Goyal, Additional Director General of Police Prashant Kumar, LR Pramod Srivastava.

During the review, it was found that due to the prosecutor's hard work in the district, the courts have sentenced 19 criminals to life imprisonment. Due to this, the district has got the sixth position in the state. JD Prosecution DK Mishra has described it as the result of hard work of the prosecution.

A 100-day action plan has also been prepared by the government. In this, it has been decided to bring maximum number of criminals to justice. Crimes related to women and children have been considered to be disposed of on priority. Buoyed by the success, SP Ashok Kumar has now set a target of getting the criminals punished by disposing of 222 cases in the coming 100 days.

Of these, 51 cases are pending in the Sessions Court and 171 in the Lower Courts. The SP directed the advocates to make effective arguments on every date, so that the accused could be sentenced by the court within the stipulated period.
