Lucknow Administration Allays Fear On Shortage Of Oxygen In The City

Lucknow, April 12 (TNA) The district administration of Lucknow on Monday allayed fears of a paucity of oxygen in the city. District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash said that there was ample supply of oxygen in the state capital and that there was no need to panic in this regard.

His statement came at a time when reports are doing the rounds that medical facilities in the state capital are facing acute shortage of oxygen, a must amid a huge spike in COVID cases.

The top official also said that the administration was coordinating uninterrupted supply by coordinating between hospitals and oxygen manufacturers.

20% more oxygen against the daily demand of oxygen is being done through 4750 oxygen cylinders, he added,

He also informed that the administration was working to raise the oxygen cylinder supply to 8800 cylinders per day. It was also informed that owing to the increase in Corona cases, 56 COVID ambulances were active.

Opposition parties and many people are however alleging that these were just claims and that the situation on the ground was "out of control".
