Live Demonstration In Kanpur Of Spraying Nano Urea Fertilizer On Field Through Drones

Kanpur, June 14 (TNA) Based on the successful initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi wherein the Government of India has used drones equipped with modern technology to monitor crops, survey, prevent pests / diseases, damage to crops at the time of divine calamity, its ambitious “Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanization” scheme has been implemented in Kanpur to assess the amount of agriculture and to increase the income of farmers with less time and less cost in other modes of farming.

To fulfill the above objectives to increase the income and confidence of farmers, in the presence of Farmer Producer Organizations and regional farmers, on Tuesday the Divisional Commissioner, Kanpur Rajshekhar and Dr. DR Singh, Vice Chancellor Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur Launched a live demonstration of spraying nano urea fertilizer on the field of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur under the joint aegis of IIT, Kanpur and Agriculture Department, Kanpur under "A Way to Precision Agriculture".

During this, the farmers and representatives of Farmer Producer Organization present by Subramaniam Sadarla, expert of IIT, Kanpur were told about the technology and precautions to be taken in its use and its utility and the accompanying equipments of the drone.

Explaining about the fixed price of Rs. 10.00 lakhs at present, information was given regarding the construction of drones with the help of IIT, Kanpur start-up companies. On this occasion, while giving information about the use of drones in the field of agriculture, the officials of the Agriculture Department said that 75 percent or maximum Rs.7.50 lakh, whichever is less, on the purchase of drones and its accessories for agricultural drone demonstration to FPOs.

It will be mandatory for agricultural producer organizations to obtain agricultural drone training and license from Indira Gandhi Aviation Academy, Fursatganj, Rae Bareli or IFFCO (IFFCO). By spraying agricultural defense chemicals and fertilizers in 30 hectares in 08 hours through drones, income can be increased by covering more area with less chemicals and reducing the cost. With the use of this new technology, it will be easy to control pests/diseases in vegetables, crops and horticultural crops up to a height of 10 m.

During this, the Divisional Commissioner appealed to play a leading role by promoting drones among the representatives of the Farmer Producer Organizations of the Division to realize the dreams of the Prime Minister through the use of drones through the Farmer Producer Organizations in the agriculture sector. Gaya and requested to organize live demonstrations in all the districts of the division and also suggested to the experts of IIT, Kanpur to increase the battery capacity of drones and to establish service centers of drones.
