Liquor Worth Rs 4.69 Crore, Rs 1.51 Crore Cash Seized In Poll-Bound UP

Lucknow, January 15 (TNA) The Election Commission of India (ECI) continues its drive in Uttar Pradesh to ensure free and fair elections, an official said on Saturday. Chief Electoral Officer of Uttar Pradesh Ajay Kumar Shukla informed that so far 2,13,675 liters of liquor worth more than Rs 4.69 crore have been seized by the Excise and Police Department.

Apart from this, cash worth more than Rs 1.51 crore has also been recovered so far in the action of the police department. Similarly, about 2607 kg ganja worth Rs 8.61 crore has been seized by the Narcotics and Police Department so far. 4,15,299 licensed weapons have been deposited by the police department so far.

So far 163 licenses have been confiscated and 477 licenses have been cancelled. Similarly, 12,32,232 people were banned while taking preventive action under CRPC.
