Late Night Brawl Leaves Two Injured at BHU

Varanasi, August 14 (TNA) Two students were injured in a late night scuffle at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi on Friday, police said. The brawl took place between students of LBS Hostel and an inmate of the Ruia Hostel.

The injured were shifted to the Trauma Center. Hundreds of students reached the trauma center late at night. Seeing the protest of the students, extra police force has reached the spot. BHU administration also tried hard to pacify the irate students into retreating.

According to information, the students of LBS Hostel near LD Guest House were talking to each other. Meanwhile, on behalf of IMS, a rumour started about overtaking a car from a resident going to Ruia Hostel. Gradually the dispute escalated so much that there was a fierce fight on both sides.

On receiving the information, members of the Proctorial Board somehow calmed down the matter. Lanka Inspector Mahesh Pandey said that the matter is being investigated.

Surrounding CCTV cameras are also being watched to identify the culprits. Chief Proctor Prof. Anand Chaudhary informed that the matter has been calmed down by talking to both the parties. Upon receipt of written complaint, action will be taken as per rules.
