Land Will Be Available On Lease For 10 Years In UP Cities For e-Charging Stations

Municipal bodies will provide land on 10-year lease to those interested in setting up e-charging stations. In the first phase, all 17 municipal corporations have been asked to mark the land.

Lucknow, December 18 (TNA) In view of the increasing number of e-vehicles in the state, the state government will provide the facility to set up e-charging stations in urban areas to meet the needs of the people. Municipal bodies will provide land on 10-year lease to those interested in setting up e-charging stations. In the first phase, all 17 municipal corporations have been asked to mark the land.

In this regard, Special Secretary, Urban Development, Dr. Rajendra Pansia has issued a government order and sent necessary guidelines. It said that charging and swapping will be allowed in public places, parking lots, metro stations, bus depots, terminals, petrol pumps, government buildings, corporate buildings, educational institutions, health institutions, shopping malls as well as commercial places, group housing societies etc. Facility will be provided. For this, land will be made available to service providers for setting up charging facilities.

To set up charging stations, land of government institutions will first be given on lease for 10 years. The rent will be decided from time to time through lease period, revenue sharing rate and other prescribed parameters. The state government wants to run completely electric vehicles by the year 2030. Along with this, there is complete preparation to run e-buses.

The team headed by the Chief Secretary will look after the work

Along with promoting the e-charging system, it has been decided to make the monitoring system of other civic facilities in the cities more transparent. For this, a high level committee has also been formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary.

This committee will keep an eye on all the facilities provided to the public in the cities and will also see whether the facilities are being provided on time or not. At the same time, the money can be spent only on scheduled works.
