Lakhimpur Kheri Case: Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’ Arrested For Not Cooperating With The Police During Interrogation
Lucknow, Oct 9 (TNA) After several hours of grilling by the Crime Branch of the Lakhimpur Kheri Police, where he reportedly failed to furnish proof of his presence somewhere else and not on the scene of the crime where his vehicle ran over a procession of farmers, leaving four of them dead, Ashish Mishra aka Monu Bhaiyya was arrested by the police late on Saturday.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Saharanpur Upendra Agarwal informed the media of the high-profile arrest and said that Monu, son of union minister of state for home, Ajay Mishra Teni, was arrested “as he was not cooperating during the interrogation.” The police official also added that Ashish also did not answer a few questions posed to him. He will now be produced before the court.
