Kanpur Receives 64,000 COVID Vaccines, Allocation Made For Districts

Kanpur, January 14 (TNA) After receiving 64,000 doses of the Coronavirus vaccine on Wednesday, the vaccine shots were dispatched to various district of the Kanpur division on Thursday, an official said.

Kanpur Nagar has been allotted 22,700 vaccines, while Kanpur Dehat has been given 7820 in the first phase. Farrukhabad gets 7440, Kannauj 8240, Auraiyya 5700 and 11970 in Etawah.

440 doses have been allotted to Armed Forces Health workers in Kanpur Nagar and 230 Doses have been allotted in Farrukhabad. Government of Uttar Pradesh has made elaborate arrangements for the Receiving, Storage, Distribution & Vaccination at centre for COVID 19 vaccine, divisional commissioner Raj Shekhar said.

The vaccine is stored in “Divisional Cold Storage Centre” at Kanshiram Hospitals premises, he informed. Commissioner Kanpur visited the Cold chain Vaccine Storage site on Thursday and reviewed the security arrangements, cold point management system & distribution system of the vaccine received.

The vaccine will reach districts by 4 pm, it was informed. All Districts need to ensure that the received Vaccine is stored properly at District Storage points and then are sent to their respective Vaccination / session Centres by tomorrow 4 pm so that the vaccination can start as per the schedule on 16th January for first phase.

All the Storage centres have been installed with CCTV and a Set Protocol is being followed for entry, exit, receipt and dispatch, security and cold point temperature maintenance.
