Kanpur Police Kidnappers Of Two-Year-Old Kid, One Criminal Injured In Police Counter

Kanpur, March 5 (TNA) A miscreant who had kidnapped a two-year-old has been arrested after he was injured in an encounter with the police late on Monday. Police said the accused had kidnapped the child and handed him over to his sister who was not having babies even many years after her wedding. The 2-year-old Kartik was kidnapped by two bike-borne criminals on February 24.

Police had poured over CCTV footage in the area and had started a lookout for the suspects. The cops noticed that the kidnapper was last seen at the Shyamnagar bridge near the Parachute factory on the GT Road. The miscreants - Rajjan and Pankaj had planned that they would take Rs four lakh and give the child to the sister. The father of the accused Rajjan worked at the labour department in the state government before his retirement.

The DGP has announced a cash reward of RS two lakh to the team that recovered the kidnapped kid safely. Police have also found in person, three live cartridges, two country-made pistols, a bike and five mobile phones.
