Kanpur Horror: Father Slits Throats of 11-Year-Old Twin Daughters, Arrested on the Spot

Kanpur, April 19 (TNA) In a spine-chilling incident early Sunday in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a father allegedly slit the throats of his 11-year-old twin daughters, Riddhi and Siddhi, inside their Trimurti Apartment flat in Kidwai Nagar under Naubasta police station, leaving the rooms drenched in blood before surrendering to police.

Shashi Ranjan Mishra, a medical representative, was arrested immediately after dialling 112 at 4:30 AM; officers found the girls’ bodies on the floor amid gore, with Mishra seated nearby. DCP South Deependra Nath Chaudhary confirmed the arrest and post-mortem of the bodies, with forensics collecting evidence, including the suspected weapon.

Mishra’s wife, Reshma, in a 2014 love marriage plagued by his alcoholism and daily beatings, revealed extensive CCTV coverage from entry to kitchen and bedrooms; he isolated with the twins, often saying, “take the son and leave, I’ll raise the daughters.” Their six-year-old son, Gannu, survived unharmed, as the motive remains under probe amid family strife.
