Kanpur Creates Record Of 495 Trains Passing In A Day, Prayagraj Division Tops In Speed

Prayagraj, January 20 (TNA) A record number of 495 trains passed within 24 hours on January 18 between Ghaziabad to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction (Mughalsarai) of Prayagraj division. The previous record of passing 489 trains was also of Prayagraj Division, which was broken this year.

Indian Railways has released reports on train speed and train load. Under this, a record of 495 trains passing between Ghaziabad to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Junction (Mughalsaray) of Prayagraj division was recorded within 24 hours on January 18.

Apart from this, 288 trains passing through Kanpur have recorded an average speed of 130 kmph. At the same time, in the railway report, Prayagraj division is also on top in speed. Public Relations Officer of Prayagraj Division, Amit Singh said that on the New Delhi-Howrah route, due to the strengthening of the infrastructure on the railway section between Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, the speed of trains has increased.

No division has achieved the speed of 130 kmph in as large a number as 288 trains. The division recorded a throughput (exchange of trains and wagons through the division) of 495 trains and 25,672 wagons on January 18. There was a record of operating 489 trains and 25,470 wagons so far.
