Kanpur Boat Club To be Thrown Open To Public In New Year, Says Divisional Commissioner Raj Shekhar

KANPUR || Divisional Commissioner of Kanpur Raj Shekhar on Thursday visited the Boat Club in the city and directed officials to ensure that the ongoing work was sped up to meet the timelines issued by the state government.

He informed that the administration plans to make the Kanpur Boat Club "one of the most important place of public attraction of Kanpur in coming days." He further added that 90 per cent work on the ambitious project was complete and the remaining shall be completed within the next three months.

"The Administration has plans to start the Boat Club operations in the first month of the 2021 new year" the high-ranking official further said.

Raj Shekhar, known for his competence and passion for developmental work, was recently named the divisional commissioner of Kanpur.

He had a long stint as district magistrate of Lucknow and had an eventful and successful tenure as the managing director of the state-owned UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). The yougnofficial hismelf had also contracted the Coronavirus.
