Kalyan Singh "Recovering Well" At SGPGI, Family Trashes Reports Of Deteriorating Health

Lucknow, July 9 (TNA) Amid reports in some sections of the social and mainstream media, that his health had worsened, prompting senior BJP leaders to visit former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh, his family on Friday said the octogenarian leader was "recovering" and "was much better that past few days". The official Twitter handle of Singh also shared his pictures, sitting and talking to the medical staff which has been looking after him.

Singh was rushed to a medical facility earlier this week after he complained of breathlessness and dizziness. He was first taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia institute and later shifted to the SGPGI in the state capital. Doctors had said that owing to high diabetes and kidney ailments his body had swollen up and too much of water was being retained by the body.

He was also slow in reactions due to high sodium levels. Union defence minister Rajnath Singh, BJP national president JP Nadda, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath and the BJP top brass has been calling on him and ensuring about his health. PM Modi has also been in touch with Kalyan Singh's family members. When Nadda met him on Thursday night, the former Rajasthan governor is learnt to have enquired about PM Modi.

To this, he thanked the Lodh leader and even mentioned it in a tweet today. Doctors however say that he was still not out of the hot waters and will be in hospital for a few more days for stabilising.
