Islamic scholars, Theologians, Faculty Members Of AMU Urge People To Get Vaccinated

Aligarh, May 18 (TNA) Noted Islamic scholars, and faculty members appealed the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) community and the general public to get vaccinated at the earliest to prevent the spread of the Covid pandemic.

A public appeal signed by Prof Zafrul Islam, Prof Zainus Sajideen, Prof Amin Miyan, Prof Ali Mohammad Naqvi, Prof A R Kidwai, Prof Saud Alam Qasmi, Prof Touqueer Alam Falahi, Prof Mohd Saleem, Prof Obaidullaah Fahad, Prof M M Sufyan Beg, Prof S Tayyab Raza, Prof Salahuddin Umri, Prof Muhammad Ismail, Prof Faizan Ahmad and Mr Naseem said that the letter and spirit of Islamic teachings, stipulates that people strive for the best to keep the virus at bay.

Islam prioritizes human life, and there is no debate on this. Protection from a virus is a part of that guidance and vaccines are modern tools to protect people from disease and also prevent them from becoming carriers of the disease within their communities and countries. By that logic, it is our duty to get vaccinated,” said the Islamic scholars.

They have also urged the AMU community and the general masses to act with greater responsibility and concern.
