Invest UP Launches Capacity-Building Drive at IIM Lucknow to Boost District-Level Investor Facilitation
Lucknow, April 6 (TNA) Reinforcing its commitment to strengthening district-level industrial ecosystems, Invest UP has launched a five-day capacity-building workshop for District Industries Commissioners (DICs), Joint Commissioners of Industries, Regional Managers, and nodal officers of Industrial Development Authorities at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
The first batch of the programme commenced today, bringing together key regional and district-level officers responsible for driving industrial growth and investor facilitation across Uttar Pradesh.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing institutional capacity at the grassroots level by equipping officials with practical skills in leadership, strategic thinking, and efficient resource management. It also focuses on strengthening their understanding of industrial policies, financial frameworks, and business dynamics to further improve the ease of doing business across districts.
Addressing the participants at the inaugural session, Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development and MSME, highlighted the critical role of district leadership in accelerating Uttar Pradesh’s industrial transformation.
He emphasized the need for a proactive governance approach, seamless investor support, and the adoption of modern administrative practices. Underscoring the gap between traditional work culture and emerging governance demands, he called for continuous learning and adaptability to sustain the state’s growth momentum.
The training programme covers key areas such as leadership for transformative governance, strategic thinking and resource optimization, business acumen and financial literacy, negotiation and communication skills, and effective project monitoring and execution. It also introduces participants to emerging trends and technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence in governance.
The inaugural session was attended by Alok Kumar, Prerna Sharma, Additional CEO, Invest UP; Prof. Sanjay Singh, Dean, IIM Lucknow; and Prof. Kshitij Awasthi, Programme Director, along with participating officials.
The programme will be conducted in three batches until May 1, 2026, with a total of 122 participants expected to benefit.
