IG Finds Complaints As Old As Five Months Dumped, Gathering Dust At Mainpuri Police Office

Mainpuri, Sep 22 (TNA) Notwithstanding the best of intentions of the UP chief minister, the state government and even the top police leadership, cops at the ground level seem uninterested in listening to the problems of the people and their redressal.

Or so it seemed when IG Agra Naveen Arora inspected the police office at Mainpuri and discovered complaints as old as five months, dumped and unattended.

The top police officer who is on a two-day official trip to the district predictably lost his cool and asked officials to dispose off these plaints within the next two-hours.

He also reprimanded senior district police officials on the complaints gathering dust in the complaint box. Clearly, Arora pointed out, the complaint box was not being opened on a daily basis, as it should be!

UP chief minister Adityanath has on many occasions in the past underlined the need of speedy disposal of complaints at the district level, failing which people camp to meet him at the Janta Darbaar.

There are many complaints and problems that can be disposed off at the district and lower levels but due to many reasons this is not done, forcing the complainant to come all the way to Lucknow with a hope to get the problem resolved. Clearly Mainpuri Police is not listening!
