Hardened Criminal Aditya Rana Gunned Down By Police In Encounter In Bijnor

Bijnor, April 12 (TNA) A hardened criminal - Aditya Rana, who carried a cash reward of a whopping Rs 2.5 lakh on his head was killed in an encounter with the police late on Tuesday night. Rana, a resident of village Rana Nangla of Seohara police station area, was killed by the police in the forest of Seohara. Police had received information that he was in the forest of Budhanpur Chowki area trying to run away somewhere.

The force of many police stations including the SP laid siege of the entire areas and ambushed him. he opened fire on the police teams and was gunned down in retaliatory firing by the police. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. Five policemen were also injured in the encounter. Aditya Rana had escaped from police custody in Shahjahanpur on August 23, 2022 while going from Bijnor to Lucknow Jail.

He had 43 cases registered in various police stations, including murder, robbery against his name. According to the police, on August 23, 2022, the police had brought Aditya Rana from Lucknow jail to Bijnor for the hearing of a case registered at Shivala Kalan police station. While returning from here, Aditya Rana absconded from Shahjahanpur's Red Chilli Dhaba by dodging the police.

After this, Aditya as declared a state mafia and a cash reward of Rs 2.5 lakh was also put on his head. According to SP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, the SOG team got information late night that Aditya and his companions were on the way to Budhanpur.

So far the police have arrested more than eight people of the Aditya gang. These include his village head brother Chandraveer Bittu. Seohara police station in-charge Rajeev Chaudhary, comrade Ajay Kumar Fauji, SOG inspector Jaiveer Singh, constables Arun and Raees were injured in the encounter.
