Hanuman Temple Priest Hacked To Death In Rae Bareli

Rae Bareli, March 20 (TNA) Unknown people killed the priest of Hanuman temple by slitting his throat with a sharp-edged weapon on Saturday night, police said on Sunday. The crime was committed at the Madan Kheda Majre Pokharni village falling under the Maharajganj police station. The Hanuman temple where the crime took place is situated at a distance of about 500 meters from the village.

The deceased has been identified as Satrohan Pal (62). He was serving in the temple for almost 10 years. The crime came to light when on Sunday morning, around 7:00 am, Mayank, the priest's grandson, went to invite him for tea as usual and saw him lying on the bed in a pool of blood.

There are marks of sharp weapons on the body of the priest. Reason for the murder is not yet clear. Some people are however attributing a land dispute behind the incident.
