Government Moots Many Plans For Janeshwar Mishra Park In Lucknow

Lucknow, June 18 (TNA) The Yogi Adityanath government has turned its attention on the sprawling Janeshwar park in city's Gomti Nagar area. After almost four years of neglect or subdued attention, the park built by the erstwhile Akhilesh Yadav government in memory of the Socialist ideologue Janeshwar Misra, was discussed at the fifth board meeting of the park committee on Thursday, an official informed.

The meeting was chaired by principal secretary (housing) and attended among others by Lucknow commissioner Ranjan Kumar and district magistrate Abhishek Prakash. For management, security, running and maintenance, a proposal of Rs 11.70 crore was moved. It was also proposed that a laser show be organised for the park visitors and a toy train - to be sponsored by the union government, be allowed.

More than 20,000 plant samplings will be planted in the park of which 15000 would be plants which can become habitat of birds. Rose garden, bougainvillea garden and other decorative plants would also be sowed. Its as also proposed that the park be divided into to parts and its maintenance outsourced.
