Government Makes Masks Mandatory In Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Noida As Covid Cases Rise In UP

Lucknow, April 18 (TNA) With one person dying due to Covid in the last 24-hours and 135 new cases coming to light, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday made wearing of masks in public places mandatory in Lucknow, Noida and Ghaziabad. It may be recalled that on April 1 the state government had withdrawn all protocols and guidelines under Pandemic Act.

However with a spike in cases once again, chief minister Yogi Adityanath has called for caution and strict implementation of the rules to prevent the spread of Covid. Masks would also be compulsory now in Hapur, Meerut, Baghpat and Bulandshahr.

Of the 135 cases in the last one day, the maximum - 76, have been reported from Noida, followed by 33 in Ghaziabad. Lucknow has also reported seven new cases while Kanpur city has logged five and Meerut 2 cases.
