Gomti Nagar Railway Station Set To Become A Major Rail Hub With Enhanced Passenger Amenities

1 min read

Lucknow, March 2 (TNA) Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar Railway Station is on track to rival prominent stations like Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata with world-class passenger facilities. Already hosting trains like Patna Vande Bharat and Kamakhya Express, it is poised to become a key hub for eastern states’ rail services. With improved connectivity, trains to Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, and other states will see faster movement.

The much-anticipated second phase of development is nearing completion. Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had virtually inaugurated the revamped station in February 2024.

Northeast Railway’s Lucknow Divisional Railway Manager, Gaurav Agarwal, informed journalists on Thursday that the second phase is expected to be completed in two months, with finishing touches currently underway. Once done, passengers will experience enhanced facilities. Plans are also in place for a new train from Lucknow to Puri, and efforts are underway to introduce a direct train service from Gomti Nagar to Mumbai.
